Betsy Martin, store owner, has been passionate about the fiber arts virtually her entire life. She learned to sew as a child, then discovered knitting and crocheting and eventually had her own business as a seamstress. While making clothes for a client who brought luxurious fabrics back from Hong Kong for her wardrobe, Betsy became intrigued with the idea of actually making the fabric and her interest in weaving was born. She got her first loom in 1995 and continues to love to weave absolutely everything from fine silks to heavy woolen rugs. She started the store because she knew there had to be other passionate weavers around, and of course a knitting "side" to the business only made good sense.
Elaine Banville is an enthusiastic rigid heddle weaver, knitter, crocheter and quilter. Elaine leads our Tuesday morning corchet classes and is the first smiling face you see most days when you enter the store. Look for her fabulous knitted, crocheted and woven samples in the store.
